Supporting families in faith

A group of us recently attended the Diocesan Training Day on working with families and children. We have come back with some exciting ideas we would like to share with you. The day emphasised that we are all part of families and that supporting families to share and grow faith is important to the ongoing life of the church. We will hold a meeting after the 10.00am service on Sunday 26 August. We will talk about what we learnt at the day and discuss some of the ideas we could try out in our parish.

For more information, contact David Earle, 478-0678.

Beanies for seafarers

There has been an overwhelming response to the call from Rev Bob Peters, Chaplain to Mission for Seafarers, asking for beanies for visiting seafarers. But please don’t stop now!  The weather in Wellington has turned towards winter and Bob says that visiting seafarers are so grateful for the beanies. Keep them coming!

Beanies may be sent to the Anglican Centre, P O Box 12046, Wellington or dropped off at 18 Eccleston Hill, Thorndon.

Can you spare an hour?

Age Concern Wellington has a number of housebound elderly clients in the Johnsonville/Newlands/Khandallah area who would appreciate a visitor for an hour a week. If you would like to become one of our volunteers please contact Monica Robinson on 499 6646 or avswgtn@acwellington.org.nz
