Sentence:

O Lord how manifold are your works; in wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
Psalm 104:25

Collect:

God of unchangeable power,
when you fashioned the world
the morning stars sang together
and the host of heaven shouted for joy;
open our eyes to the wonders of creation
and teach us to use all things for good,
to the honour of your glorious name;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

John 9:1–41

Our Guest Priest: Mark Johnson
Hi, my name is Mark and I am the Supervising Chaplain at AngChap Victoria University. I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the USA and was based there all my life until 2011. Before moving to Wellington, I was part of an international youth mission organisation for 17 years that contextualised the gospel among secular and post-Christian youth culture.
I like reading, studying, exercising, listening to and occasionally playing music, and walking on Waikanae beach. My passion is to communicate the gospel and the scriptures in a way that people can understand. I am also passionate about helping people know that God can be trusted even when life seems to be falling apart. I care about authenticity, humility, compassion, grace, and truth. I also care deeply about good coffee.
It is wonderful to be with you, to preach and preside at the Eucharist, and hopefully catch up with a few of you at the back for coffee after the service .

Today we pray for:

  • List MP Gareth Hughes
  • teachers and students at Johnsonville School and St Brigid’s
  • all the mothers in the Diocese on Mothering Sunday
  • The Church of Ireland and The Most Revd Dr Richard Lionel Clarke, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland and Metropolitan
  • non-government organisations working in the areas of poverty, health and education.
  • those who have asked for our prayers and those who have died.
