Readings and prayers 14 April 2013

I would feed you with the finest wheat-flour; and satisfy you with honey from the rock.
Psalm 81:16

Living host, call us together,
call us to eat and drink with you.
Grant that by your body and your blood
we may be drawn to each other and to you. Amen

Sunday  and Thursday Bible Readings:

Acts 9:1–6, (7–20)
Psalm 30
Revelation 5:11–14
John 21:1–19

“So often the message of the Lord reaches us through some experience or acquaintance reckoned at the time as ordinary or commonplace. Only afterwards do we realise what or who was really in touch with us through this commonplace
event or person.” —William Temple

Today we pray for:

  • NZCMS and its National Director, Rev Steve Maina
  • those who have left their homes and families to serve the Church overseas
  • the legacy of missionaries everywhere, that it will continue to thrive as a growing church
  • all NZCMS Mission Partners
  • children and staff at Raroa Intermediate and Johnsonville School.
  • children, parents and caregivers who attend mainly music and the mainly music team.
  • our City Councillors: Jo Coughlan, Andy Foster, John Morrison.
  • those who have asked for our prayers and those who have died.
