We setting up opportunities for first aid training for parish members. We want to make sure there are enough people trained to provide support when it is needed. It is also a requirement for any activities involving children and young people. If you are interested in taking part in the training, please contact David Earle (ph 478 0678).
We are also looking into a short CPR training course. More on this soon.
This Sunday night (31 March, Easter Sunday) the guest on Real LIfe will be the Anglican Bishop of Wellington, Bishop Justin Duckworth. This will air on Newstalk ZB from 8 to 9pm.
There will be another trip to Tonga to help at St Andrew’s school. One of the volunteer groups last year refurbished a house owned by the school. The house is being kept to accommodate volunteers who go to Tonga to work in, or at, the school, but at the moment it is bare. We are looking for some furniture to put in it: lounge suite; 2 easy chairs; queen-size bed and mattress; small kitchen table and maybe two chairs; freestanding wardrobes and chests of drawers; coffee table; saucepans (decent ones are very hard to come by in Tonga. We would also be grateful for anything else you care to donate. We have a container going to Tonga, which we will be filling from the middle of April to the end of April. We can store offerings in the meantime. You can contact Maurice Dagger email@example.com or 478-3620. We can pick up.
Envelopes for the Anglican Missions Lenten Appeal 2013 are at the back of the church. Please consider donating. You can leave the envelope in the Sunday offering, or you can donate online at www.angmissions.org.nz.
