Though Fr Michael will remain in the parish, he will finish his work as our supply priest at the end of the month. We will have the opportunity to thank him at morning tea to be held between the services from 9.25am on Sunday 27 January. We look forward to seeing you then.
Our next meeting is Thursday, 7 February. It is a day outing to Katherine Mansfield House, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary. It is a guided tour with paintings and replanted garden. Cost of entry is $5, Historic Places Trust members free. Meet at the church carpark at 1.45pm to carpool. Followed by afternoon tea in the Hunter Lounge. Contact Christine Gibbons, 478-3748, by 25 January.
For anyone interested in Christian Meditation…or just a very peaceful day. Liz Watson, former National Coordinator of the U.K. World Community of Christian Meditation, will be conducting a Day of Recollection at the Home of Compassion, Island Bay, Saturday 26 January from 10.00am-3.00pm. Bring your lunch and Koha.
She will be accompanied by her husband Graeme, an Anglican priest who leads a meditation group in London. He is the author of “Strike the cloud, understanding and practicing the teaching of The Cloud of Unknowing”.

The Hall ceiling has been seismically strengthened and insulation has been installed in the ceiling. The Hall is now fully functional. In due course, it is expected the Hall will be assessed by the Wellington City Council as being 100% compliant of required Building Standard Code. We were impressed with the workmanship of the local Building Contractor Michael Harris and his son Joe.
We are very grateful to the Villas Trust who donated $10,000 toward the cost of the work.
